Vladislav Tretiak Signing Event — August 2011
August 3, 2011 – Steve Fournier
About Vladislav Tretiak
Vladislav Tretiak is universally recognized as the greatest goaltender in international hockey history. The backbone of the legendary Soviet national team, Tretiak won three Olympic gold medals, ten World Championship titles, and was the dominant force behind the USSR's hockey dynasty throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. His performance in the 1972 Summit Series against Canada remains one of the most celebrated chapters in hockey history. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1989 — the first Soviet-trained player ever enshrined — Tretiak's signature is among the most iconic in the entire hobby.
The Signing Event — Where It All Began
This signing holds a very special place in SportAuthentix history — it was our very first signing event. On Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 5:00 PM, SportAuthentix hosted Vladislav Tretiak at a private signing at Canlan Sports Ice Arena in Toronto, Ontario. Not open to the public, this exclusive event was conducted in a controlled setting with a SportAuthentix representative present for every signature. Starting our journey with one of hockey's all-time legends set the standard for everything that followed.
