About Bob Gainey
Bob Gainey is one of the most respected and decorated players in Montreal Canadiens history. A five-time Stanley Cup champion, Gainey won four consecutive Frank J. Selke Trophies (1978–1981) as the NHL’s best defensive forward — a standard of excellence that defined his era. He was named the most complete player in the world by Soviet coaching legend Viktor Tikhonov during the 1979 Challenge Cup. Gainey was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1992 and later served as General Manager of the Canadiens, cementing his legacy as one of the most influential figures in franchise history.
